BioI'm Terri Schiavo's former feeding tube. Thousands of people a year die because they can't afford life-sustaining medical treatment, but you only hear about it when the president's dipshit little brother thinks he can get some political capital out of it. Bush's approval rating is in the low forties now! Sucks to be him! Almost as much as it sucks to chew and swallow filet mignon at your private ranch!
So, anyway, I had a pretty sweet deal with the Schiavo gig. I'd rather be feeding someone who actually knows they're hungry, but hey, what can you do? I got to watch a lot of TV, and having food pass through me is like having a really good, really long orgasm. But don't tell that to the Religious Right - feeding tubes would be outlawed.
About fifteen years after Terri died, my job at the hospice ended. I was trying to get a position up the pope's nose, but it was already filled. They offered me a job as an enema tube, but I had to call foul. I'm waiting for Jerry Falwell to slip into a coma. Maybe I'll join the Peace Corps and go to Africa.
